“Journey to Freedom: Performance of Negro Spirituals of the 19th Century,” will be held 7 p.m. Saturday, February 9, at the Old Severns Valley Baptist Church, 401 West Poplar Street, Elizabethtown.
Celebrate the lives of three Hardin Countians and stories of their personal journey to freedom told through music and drama. This is a free event.

February 10 - Lexington |

Our Lincoln, a Lexington Abraham Lincoln celebration is planned for Sunday, February 10, at the Singletary Center for the Arts on the University of Kentucky campus. The Kentucky Humanities Council, Inc. is producing the gala.
Lexington's Lincoln Celebration features the American Spiritual Ensemble, the Lexington Philharmonic, and an act from a new Kentucky opera about Lincoln as a young man. It will also include vignettes from Kentucky Chautauqa characters, and a reading by Kentucky's poet laureate, Jane Gentry Vance. The Kentucky Reperatory Theatre will present a cameo from Wade Hall's drama, One Man's Lincoln, that will tour statewide in March.

The Kentucky Salute to Abraham Lincoln will be held Monday, February 11, at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts in Louisville.
The Louisville Orchestra will perform with guest soloist soprano Angela Brown, including the premiere of a new Lincoln work composed by Peter Schickele. Brown will also perform Marian Anderson's 1939 rendition of My Country 'Tis of Thee. Artists from the Kentucky Opera will accompany Brown. Award-winning actor Sam Waterston and Lincoln scholar Harold Holzer will cap the evening with a performance of "Lincoln Seen and Heard," a dramatic presentation of Lincoln speeches and photographs.
Award-winning journalist and Louisville native Bob Edwards will host the February 11 celebration.
Tickets for the gala event at the Kentucky Center for the Arts cost $50 for the public and $10 for students. They are on sale now through the Kentucky Center box office.

February 12 -- Downtown Hodgenville |

A Color Guard Flag Ceremony and Wreath Laying will be held 8 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, at the Hodgenville City Center. This event is sponsored by the City of Hodgenville.
Following the inaugural event at the birthplace, visitors are invited to attend the Annual Lincoln Days Luncheon at the Abraham Lincoln Elementary School in Hodgenville.
Lunch will begin at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are available by calling Lincoln Days Celebration staff at 270-358-8710 or by visiting www.lincolndays.org.
Kentucky's Lincoln Heritage Trail will be unveiled at 3 p.m. in the Hodgenville City Center. More details will be provided as they become available.

The annual Lincoln Days Birthday Luncheon is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, at the Abraham Lincoln Elementary School in Hodgenville.
Tickets are $30 each and are available online at www.lincolndays.org or by phone at 270-358-8710.
The luncheon is sponsored by Lincoln Days Celebration, Inc., a community organization dedicated to planning observances of Lincoln’s birthday, as well as the annual Lincoln Days event in Hodgenville, held each October.

The Hardin County Schools Performing Arts Center (PAC) in Elizabethtown is offering a show entitled "Lincoln's Legacy: A Musical Tribute" on Tuesday, February 12.
The Stephen Foster Singers, The Lexington Philharmonic, Glen Rice and nationally-renowned Lincoln enactor and historian Jim Getty will offer a tribute to Abraham Lincoln and his love for music. The concert will be preceded by a catered dinner for audience and artists alike.
This project is supported, in part, with funds from the Kentucky Arts Council, the Kentucky Historical Society and the Kentucky Humanities Council, as well as the Kentucky Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission.
Dinner will begin at 7 p.m. with the performance at 8 p.m. Tickets are $40 for dinner and the performance or $30 for the performance. They can be purchased at: http://www.thepac.net/index.asp.
